This gallery is a mixture of the work of French and American Impressionists. Edouard Manet did not consider himself an Impressionist and several of these paintings predate the movement, but he became heavily involved with the group through his relationship with Berthe Morisot, his sister-in-law. In the end, he influenced the movement and the movement influenced him.
