Pictures I enjoyed from the MoMA

Does Andy Warhol Make You Cry?, Louise Lawler, 1988, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
I enjoy the simplicity of this portrait, especially because the person is anything except simple. I also enjoy how her face is somewhat faded but yet it is clear enough to see her.
The Dream, Henri Rousseau, 1910, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
The colors used are fantastic. The contrast of dark colors and bright colors is eye catching. The bright blues and yellows play of f the dark greens.
The Sleeping Gypsy, Henri Rousseau, 1897, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
I enjoy the story of this painting. There is a lion that is sniffing this person at night in the middle of the desert. It is captivating ,
Nan and Brian in Bed, New York City, Nan Goldin, 1983, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
This picture seems real. It is not some fantasy as the others I have chosen. It seems like what a real relation ship is like. Distant but close.
Untitled from the series Lieber Maler, male mir [Dear Painter, Paint for Me], Martin Kippenberger, 1981, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
This is funny. To me at least. A man just casually sitting on the corner of a street on a full sized couch is funny. Its like he is waiting for the mail to come.
The Starry Night, Vincent van Gogh, 1889, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
Starry Night has to be on of my favorite paintings of all time. The way the stokes of the painting are laid out and how each level of the painting changes to a differnt shade is amazing.
Histoire(s) du cinéma (Chapters 1A and 1B), Jean-Luc Godard, 1988/1989, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
I enjoy how Charly Chaplin's face is so serious , while the picture reads, "That celo." The picture seems so serious when the muse is such a comical character.
Lavender Corduroy Personal Panel, Andrea Zittel, 1995/1998, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
I like how the focus is on the dress. I feel as if there is more of a story to the dress then we know, such as who made it ? Why did they make it? When did they make it? It is intreging.
Architekturmuseum from Courage to Print (Mut zum Druck), Martin Kippenberger, 1990, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
There are so many different things going on in this picture that is great. There are the four men , three of which are looking at the camera while the other is focused on something else. In the background there is a palm tree and old architectual buildings . It makes me wonder what is going on here?
Deadpan, Steve McQueen, 1997, From the collection of: MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
For some reason this picture makes me think of James Dean. Jeans, dirty shoes in the dirt,, and its black and white. It makes me feel as if the person whose these feet belong to has done something bad but doesnt regret it.
