For my Google Art Project Virtual Exhibition I have chosen the theme of Street Art and have selected eight pictures to represent this. Many people disagree with Street Art because they believe that the artists are vandalizing the city walls with irrelevant drawings. On the contrary, Street Art artists want people to view and be engaged by their work because they are using their artwork to make a statement.

ART, Jace, 2012, From the collection of: Underground Paris
This piece is representing the criticism that the introduction of street art and its culture receives. I chose it because it is amazing how much buzz one painting can make.
Mural por Corográfico, Corográfico, 2013, From the collection of: Los Muros Hablan
This artwork was done to show social injustice. I chose it because when I saw it I did not think a drawing like this could make a statement, but it did.
La pared no se vende, Jaz, 2010-10-08, From the collection of: graffitimundo
La pared no se vende means the wall is not for sale. This was done because chunks of art began to disappear on the streets of Buenos Aires. I chose this because it was simple & straight to the point.
Mural por Axel Void, Axel Void, 2013, From the collection of: Los Muros Hablan
Axel Void focuses on themes like drugs, poverty, and death, which is what La Perla here is showing. I chose this because how can such a great drawing be in such a torn down place?
Wild Child, Boris, 2012, From the collection of: Underground Paris
Wild Child is a simplistic piece of Street Art. Boris is an artist who is somewhere in between graffiti and street art, which is why his style is so simple. I chose this because it describes me.
Unknown, SC SZYMAN, 2014, From the collection of: Traffic Design
This mural instead of being drawn was posters glued together to create this structure. I chose it because of the color change from the outside to the center and vice versa.
Colorful Toilets, Chiot, 2012, From the collection of: Underground Paris
Instead of signing his name Chiot draws his trademark, a toilet. This is a symbol he chose to show urban decay. I chose this picture because I was amazed that someone would get that high to draw.
Interventions in the Soho neighborhood, Malaga, 2013-11, From the collection of: Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Málaga
This street is used as a canvas so that artists can freely express and draw what they want. I chose this picture because I liked how every garage door had a different drawing.
