Persepolis is Marjane Satrapi’s memoir of growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. Satrapi puts a twist on this unforgettable story by telling her journey through powerful black-and-white comic strip pictures. Satrapi’s child-eye view of home life as opposed to her public life allows us to learn the contradicting hardships of her country and the history that goes along with it. All together this moving, intensely political, and rawly personal memoir is a story reminding us to be fearless when faced with the unusual trials that life throws our way.                                                                                  “Painting her readers an unforgettable journey about staying true to ones self through times of heartache.”- LA Times                                                                                                                                                              "Marji is a strong young women, her view of life may change throughout the book but her "fight for what you believe in" attitude stays true. Hers rebellious actions may get her into trouble but this doesn't change her feelings or ambitions in any way." - Iyer Pico                                                                                                 “Persepolis is a unique eye-opening experience.”- USA Today
