Leonardo Da Vinci once said, "Life without love, is no life at all." The selected works belong to certain movements of the modern/post-modern umbrella some of which include; Pop Art, Minimalism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Surrealism (Lowbrow), and Urban Art. These artworks all incorporate some aspect(s) of love as the central theme of my gallery.

100 Kinds of Love, Kim, Bum Su, 2008, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
This installation is seen as the title describes it to be 100 kinds of love. Love is different and the artist created this contrast within each heart using color, positioning, and intensity of light.
Spread the Love, Carlos Chavez & B1, 2013, From the collection of: The Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles
Urban Art or Street Art has never been considered a serious form of art but conceptually its quite powerful. This murals main focus is on spreading love with the background showing interconnectedness.
You Who Are My Love and My Life’s Enemy Too, Imran Qureshi, 2010, From the collection of: AAN Collection
The aggressive use of red color and the forms abstractly being created shows that even what we see holds a deeper story. The artist is showing his love and hatred for the situation in his homeland. Red being a symbolic color for love as well as blood is visually applied in this piece.
Water and Fire, Lee, Il Ho, 2009, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
This piece is a beautiful and eccentric portrayal of how opposites attract. Everything from the contrast in color to the movement of each figure shows how intensely they differ from one another.
Art is personal and though we see what we want to see the artists always leaves clues on their intent. "Apotryptophanae" is actually a type of pill, the colors of the circles all portray pills, an addiction the artist struggled with. Even addictions can be some form of love.
Endless Love, Koh Sang Woo, 2012/2012, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
The symbolism in this piece is so powerful! This woman holds what might be her lover a skeleton in what the title describes to be endless love. The vibrant glowing colors really accentuates the importance of the lovers.
Love is Nobody's Bitch, Kevin Love, 2013, From the collection of: Maboneng Precinct
This is an interesting mural, the artists name is Kevin Love so he may or may not be using his last name as a type of figurative element in his work. What is seen here are these strange tentacle-like creatures going after a woman surrounded with hearts who shows no interest and is walking away holding true to the title, "Love is Nobody's Bitch".
Pleasant Landscape 1193, Kim, Ik Mo, 2011, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
A piece that is aesthetically pleasing to look at is what "Pleasant Landscape 1193" has created. Though this piece is abstract two irregular hearts can somehow be seen with a smaller heart located on the left. Hearts are the main symbol of love, perhaps that is why this landscape is so pleasant.
Apple-Love(R), Kim, Byung Jin, 2011, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
At first glance this sculpture appears as a green apple though once you look closely you will notice that the structure of this apple is the word "LOVE" closely jumbled together. Even in material or consumable things love is present!
Untitled, Lady Aiko, 2014, From the collection of: Outdoor Project
A modern take on love is visually being represented in this piece, the blue (boy) and pink (girl) are representational for the traditional type of love present in society. The gold frame highlights the importance of the lovers and/or relationship.
