History was made when South Africa played there first Test match at the W.A.C.A. ground 16-20 December 2005. Australia won the toss and batted first making 258. In reply South Africa scored 296. In the second innings Australia declared 8-528 with Man of the Match Brad Hodge scoring his maiden Test century finishing 203 not out. South Africa drew the match making 5-287. Other notable performances included Makhaya Ntini 5-64, Jaques Rudolph 102 n.o. and Brett Lee 5-93.
