It was Created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the museum’s opening.
It combines the western calendar year associated with Komazawa University and the Museum of Zen Culture and History with the octagonal shape of the ceiling stained glass, the symbol of the Museum of Zen Culture and History.
1592: Gakurin, the predecessor of Komazawa University, was established
1882: The modern university administered by the Soto School of Buddhism was opened.
2002: The Museum of Zen Culture and History was opened.
2022: 20th anniversary of the museum’s opening & 140th anniversary of the school’s opening.
