A noble title created by King Carlos II and bestowed upon Don Francisco López de los Ríos y Cerón, Lord of Herradura, Torre Blanca, and other lands. The title is a reference to the city of Gabia Grande, in the municipality of Las Gabias, in Granada. The Fourth Count of Gavia, Mariano Gutiérrez de los Ríos y Egas-Venegas, was awarded the title “Greatness of Spain,” second class, in 1802.
