Shrubs 1-2m tall. Forests, forest margins. Branchlets purple-brown to brownish, lustrous, robust, conspicuously angled. Leaves alternate, lengths 3-8cm× widths 3-4cm, elliptic-ovate, base broadly cuneate, margin irregularly doubly or singly serrate, apex acute or acuminate. Corymbs terminal on erect, long, leafy shoots of current year, compound, numerous flowered; rachis and pedicels glabrous. Petals white, pinkish in bud. Fl. May-Jun, Fr. Sep-Oct.
