Deep mountain forest. Perennial. Around 30-60cm tall. Branches slightly split. Underground stems grow thicker to the side. Leaves alternate, 10-20cm long, 3-7cm width, oval-ovate, both ends narrow, soft, Petioles flat, edges are flat, lower leaves 1-2 dentation. Flowers bloom Apr-May, the dark burgundy, peduncle 3-5cm long, sepals are irregularly divided into 5 pieces in green, corolla bell-shaped, the tip is 5, shallowly divided, about 2cm long, purpleish yellow, 5 stamens. Fruits round capsule 1cm in diameter. Seeds 2.5mm in diameter, kidney-shaped and have a net pattern.
