On the upper portion of the plate are leafing branches of ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) tree with detailed depictions of flowers and fruits. The bottom portion of the plate has illustrations of tree bark, woodgrain and heartwood. Also illustrated on the plate is Sciadopitys verticillata, the umbrella pine.
