This colorful pictorial map shows the border area between Korea, Russia and China in 1880s, around the Tumen River and Nokdun Island. Kim Gwang-hun and Shin Sun-wook investigated on the area around the Tumen River and Yeonhaeju (Russia) for 16 years and produced this map. ‘Aguk’ is short for ‘Arasa’ which means Russia. The folded map is actually one big paper. In the map, information such as the number of the households, population, local products, military situations and distances are described in details. This is the unique version of Jangseogak.
