The elegant palace was constructed only in two months, in order to make it in time for a stay by the Empress Dowager Eisho, who was the biological mother of the Emperor Meiji. Then, the Emperor Taisho (Imperial Prince Harunomiya-Yoshihito) made a long-term stay in his childhood for summering, recuperation, and swimming training. Also, many of the successive Imperial families and VIPs from various worlds made a stay. Once sold to the neighboring inn in 1911, Hinjitsukan was donated to former Futami Town after the inn closed its business. Currently, it is a museum managed by an NPO which Ise City designates as the administrator.
