Ada Byron, Lord Byron's daughter, became Ada Lovelace in 1835 and is renowned for having published the first computer algorithm. This watercolour portrait of Ada Byron (later Ada Lovelace) is from a commonplace book likely originally owned by the Noel family.

The book also includes extracts from works by Lord Byron, Susanna Blamire and L.E.L. (Letitia Elizabeth Landon), including works that were not published at the time.
