A postcard by Mahalaxmi from Chennai, Tamil Nadu calls for an urgent replacement of child labour with child education

There is a significant negative correlation between levels of economic activity of children aged 7-14 years and youth literacy rates in the 15-24 age bracket. In India, about 1.4 million child labors are in the age group of 7-14 years. There needs to be a consolidated effort to educate child labors not just to give them an opportunity to grow in life but also to ensure the future of our nation.
