Paperback textbook sewn and covered in hide. A highly interesting piece. Its author, Alejandro Oliván y Borruel, held various positions in the civil service in the 1850s. This work was greatly popular as it was an award-winning textbook in 1849 and was made obligatory across all public schools in the kingdom, achieving widespread publication.
The piece on display in this museum is likely a first edition from the Don F. de P. Mellado printing press (Establecimiento Tipográfico de D.F. de P. Mellado) in Madrid in 1849.
