"Chasing Boundaries" is a series of documentary films focused on contemporary art that wants to overcome the traditional method of linear and self-concluding narrative structures in favor of a more expanded format, open to new ways of perceiving concepts and information. The series was developed by Zelia Bishop and Emanuele Napolitano to describe art practice from a video art stanpoint. The aim is to gather different voices from distant lands, statements of people that deals with difficult and impossible conditions and learned to transform those experiences into art. The interviews put the viewer in the position of observing a sequence of fragments capturing the everyday life with the intention to make everyone able to produce one's own personal experience. It is not a question of witnessing an ideological portrait of the filmed subjects but simply being present and observing things as they unfold.
