The allegory of the triumph of death, painted on one of the walls of the so-called gallery of nobles, depicts the death that triumphs over all earthly goods. At the bottom are an hourglass, a book, a crown and a scepter. Respectively a symbol of time, knowledge, power. According to popular tradition, the image was inspired by the famous poem "A level" written by Antonio de Curtis, in art Totò.
