Altarpiece of the Holy Trinity

Francesco Morone1520

Museo di Castelvecchio

Museo di Castelvecchio
Verona, Italy

The altarpiece comes from the Fumanelli chapel in the church of Santa Maria della Vittoria Nuova. It appears to be a mature work by the artist, although Morone is a very enigmatic painter whose style doesn’t seem to have gone through a recognizable evolution, making it very difficult to date his works.
