The Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum, Waseda University (ENPAKU) was built by Prof. IMAI, Kenji (School of Science & Engineering, Waseda Univ.) modeled on "Fortune Theatre" in 16th century England by the inspiration of Dr. TSUBOUCHI Shoyo's.
The museum buiding itself is like a theatre:
-The stage is set in the overhang in the center of the
museum.
-The buildings on both wings overlooking the stage
are pier seats.
-The reading room at the back of the stage is the
dressing room.
-The square in front of the stage is for general
audience seating.
In other words, everything is united and they can be seen as a theater.
At the top of the stage you can see famous saying of Shakespeare that "Totus Mundus Agit Histrionem" written in Latin ("All the world's a stage.").
You are all set!
