The muscle men illustrations are some of the most well known illustrations from Vesalius' De Humani Corporis Fabrica Libri Septem, and these images can be found in Liber II (book 2) of the Fabrica, between pages 170 and 208.

Here we have removed the 'muscle men' to create a panorama and focus on the landscape in the background. The location depicted has been debated for centuries, but is accepted by most to be of the Italian countryside.

The Fabrica is considered one of the most important medical books ever published, and changed the way that anatomy was understood and taught.
