This screen printed cloth competitor's badge was made for use at the Fourth Australian Surfboard Championships held at Bells Beach, Victoria during Easter, April 1967. Contest Director Tony Olsen used the championships to test new ideas, introducing a three round tournament along the lines of competition in the United States of America.

Contestants included Midget Farrelly, Wayne Lynch, Butch Cooney, Kevin Parkinson, Nat Young, Gail Couper, Keith Paul, Peter Drouyan, Robert Brown and Russell Hughes. Nat Young won the Men's final, Malcolm Sanders the Senior Men's final and Wayne Lynch the Junior Men's final.
