The sacraments’ door has been inaugurated by Pope Paul VI on September the 12nd 1965. The theme has been suggested to the commission for St. Peter’s Doors by Crocetti himself in 1951 to remark the “deep bound of the souls with Christ and the Church through the sacraments”.
