Fan with ivory sticks.  The double paper leaf is painted on the recto with a view of the Cape of Good Hope with Table Mountain seen in the distance. The verso is painted with a view of shipping off the coast of Batavia, capital city of the Dutch East Indies (modern day Jakarta).
