This is a blacksmith's bellow. The skins are goatskin, one skin to each bellow, folded over and stitched down the side.The wooden pipes are called NGORORO and the strings in which the hand goes to operate the bellows are called LOKWA.One end of the sticks closing the bellows mouth are rested on the ground, so that maximum downward pressure can be exerted to blow air into the fire.
