Sagawa Art Museum
Moriyama-Shi, Japan

The source of the name “YARAI NO AME WA” refers to the phase from Kichizaemon XV poem. This is a cylindrical-shaped bowl. For the decoration, a spatula is effectively used so that the fluting applied to the body and the lip trimmed dauntlessly give the form a rich move. It is entirely covered with a transparent glaze including a cobalt, a copper, a yellowish green, a black glaze to create a tasteful scenery. The double foot is as seen in Karatsu and Shino Ware. The work is one of the “Ha no HA” series.
