The source of the name “SORA O TOBITE USEI O NASU” refers to the phase from a classical Chinese poem. The tea bowl is heavily distorted with a fine spatula in longitudinal direction. The notched hip is covered with a cobalt glaze, which looks like a sky. From the mouth to the foot, a lustrous black glaze is painted with a brush. It looks as if the rain flows down into an abyss.
