“Blue Structure” is an example of abstract geometric sculpture by the Bahian artist Emanoel Araujo, born in Santo Amaro da Purificação, in 1940. In the 1950s, the artist was a woodworking apprentice from Mestre Eufrásio Vargas and worked with linotyping and graphic composition at the State's Official Press. In the following decade he was a student at the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Bahia. He combined artistic production with the management of art institutions. He was director of the Museum of Art of Bahia, from 1981 to 1983, and of the Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo, from 1992 to 2002. In 2004, on his initiative, the Afro Brasil Museum was inaugurated, in São Paulo (SP), where the artist acts as director and curator. He lives in São Paulo.
