On 15 November 1947, crowds flocked to the SCG hoping to see Don Bradman make his 100th first-class century in a match between an Australian XI and India. At 1/11 Bradman went out to bat, playing a careful and determined innings he reached 50 in 78 minutes. In the last over before tea Bradman reached 99, Indian captain, Lala Amarnath, gave the ball to Kishenchand, a man who had not bowled a single ball all tour. Kishenchand’s ball was gently pushed to leg and Bradman posted his century.
