Sydney Cricket & Sports Grounds
Moore Park, Australia

The Sydney Cricket Ground has hosted all manner of professional sport since the 1850s, but is renowned as one of the world’s most loved cricketing venues.

It has hosted World Cups, grand finals, blockbusters of all codes, cycling, horse racing, athletics and even the Empire Games, the forerunner to the Commonwealth Games.

Since its earliest days, the SCG has shared its lands with other grounds, first the Sydney Sports Ground and SCG No.2 which were replaced by the Sydney Football Stadium in 1988.

Today, the NSW Government is building a new Sydney Football Stadium, which is due to be opened in 2022.

The broader precinct includes the headquarters of sporting clubs and codes, a university campus, health club facilities and a sports museum.
