Image of a nursemaid, in charge of caring for two children, one of whom may be less than a year old due to his scant clothing, while the other wears a typical dress for boys who did not reach a definitive year for the haircut and the use of pants. The young woman is sitting on a bench and wears, like other maids or nannies, the classic cloak over her head and a simple dress.
The term milkmaid has been generalized to those characters who no longer fulfilled this function and who become baby-sitters, maids or nannies for the little ones.
