Ten years after the representation of the first model, this other version of a young ox characterizes itself as a culmination of an analysis of the movement started with the test performed two years prior (n. inv. 64): the animal is portrayed while doing a sort of spin on itself resulting in a torsion of the front part of its body.
As a sort of dance, the right front leg guides and supports the movement, anticipated by the snout which is turned as well in line with the left front leg that serves as spindle. The animal, therefore, seems to be playing with his own limbs as all baby animals do to learn how to move, with the grace which is proper of spontaneity.
