The writing of the 19th King of Joseon, Sukjong. He copied Wu YinZhi’s of Qin’s five-word line poem 「Upon leaving Tamcheon」. Wu YinZhi was on his way to Guangzhou province and not far from there was a spring called Tamcheon. The legend said that if you drink from this spring, you will have endless greed. So Wu YinZhi tried this water and wrote a poem to prove that he was not affected by it. It is a representative work of Sukjong’s semi-cursive writings. * Text and annotation 雲深不知處 / People say this spring makes you . 一歃懷千金 / Desire for fortune, after drinking one sip from it. 試使夷齊飮 / Let Baekyi and Sukje try it. 終當不易心. / They will never change their mind.

- korean caption: 조선의 제 19대 국왕 숙종(肅宗)의 어필(御筆). 진(晉) 오은지(吳隱之)의 5언 절구 「탐천을 뜨며(酌貪泉)」를 필사한 글이다. 오은지가 광주자사(廣州刺史)로 가는데 주(州)에서 멀지 않은 탐천(貪泉)의 샘물을 마시면 욕심이 끊임없이 생긴다고 들었다. 그래서 오은지가 탐천을 마신 후 이 시를 지어 그렇지 않다는 것을 노래했다고 한다. 숙종의 대표적인 행서 작품이다. * 본문 및 해석 古人云此水 / 옛 사람들이 이르기를 이 샘물은 一歃懷千金 / 한 모금만 마셔도 천금을 갖고 싶다고 한다네. 試使夷齊飮 / 시험 삼아 백이와 숙제에게 마시게 하여도 終當不易心. / 끝내 그 마음은 바꾸지 않을 거라네.
