This bullfighter's "cape" was used for the opening ceremony in bullfights. It is semicircular with a short cloak around the low neckline and was produced with two pieces of light blue rayon satin joined by a central machine-sewn seam to leave the lower part open. The lining is made with a two-piece red satin strip joined on the lower edge to two others in ivory rayon taffeta. Adorned with polychrome threads of cotton embroidered with an encroaching stitch. The decoration consists of a wavy stem with large flowers, leaves and elongated botehs (stylised eardrops) that extend from a centreline framed by the central seam; from this it extends along the upper edge, the neckline and the central section where it becomes lozenge-shaped. A double braided cord in black cotton runs across the top, neckline and lower opening.
