On the NASA website there is an archive of images of the planet Mars in black and white. The photographs were made with the system HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) developed in 2006 by the University of Arizona. The artist was fascinated by the high-definition images of the planet, through which you can see every little change in its surface despite the distance. Ruff modified the photographs creating particular perspectives in order to give the viewer the impression of flying toward the planet or on it. In this way he created images of real photographs that do not conform to reality, and which are therefore misleading, in spite of their apparent scientific vocation.
