This color illustrated postcard shows the Charlotte City Hall building. The building had a dragon weathervane at the top of a tall central tower which was visible from all over town, a clock with a face on all four sides, and a deep bell that chimed the hour. The brownstone building sat at Tryon and Fifth Streets and served the city from 1891-1924, then a new City Hall was built.
