Kasamatsu depicts a Tosho-go Shrine in the Ueno park in Tokyo. The Shrine is a Shinto Shrine and is otherwise called Kiyomizudo, or the Ueno Temple. Tosho-go denotes that the temple is a Shinto shrine in which Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the last shogunate of Japan, is enshrined with the name Tosho Dai Gongen. The precincts of this temple are depicted in Ando Hiroshige's ukiyo-e work The Moon Pine.
