The University of Alberta Museum is a non-profit organization that houses 30 collections in over 100 buildings across the University of Alberta North Campus. The UAMU focuses on teaching, research and community engagement. The UAMU began collecting artifacts in 1908 and became a centralized unit in the 1970s. Utilizing its various collections, the UAMU puts focus on object-based learning and aims to keep the collections available to students and classes as well as the general public.
