Chopin in Pop Culture II (part of the triptych)

In Maksym Ostrowski's triptych "Chopin in Pop Culture", which consists of large-sized works painted on plywood, the binding motif is the contour of Chopin, appearing here like a stamp or graphic sign. It is multiplied and changed, layers and colors are added that can be read symbolically. Finally, in the last work, through the specific application of two layers, this shape begins to resemble ... a coffin. The artist uses simple means to achieve an ambiguous message, referring to the shallow reception and stereotypes present in Chopin's reception and their cultural consequences.
