Cloisonne Flower Snuff Bottle

Snuff bottles were often used during the Qing dynasty. Owned by doctors, they contained a mixture of tobacco and other leaves as an herbal medicine. Most flowers represent good luck and fortune, they can also symbolize love and happiness.

To produce cloisonné enamel, one must make copper base and apply thin wires to form the desired design; the wires are then soldered to the body, and then the design is filled with different colored enamels in multiple stages. Finally, the bottle is then polished and gilded.
