Coade stone Sundial in Temple Wood at Weston Park

Made of twice-fired ceramic Coade stone, this sundial stands on a small mount on the edge of Capability Brown's Temple Wood. It is, itself, an eyecatcher, drawing the visitor to look at its classical form and perhaps to try and tell the time by the sun, The sundial's position, on the edge of Temple Wood, also encourages visitors to pause and to look out over the hah-ha to the views in the parkland to the south
