A collection of kings’ writings from Seonjo (1567-1607), Injo (1623-1648), Hyojong (1649-1658), Hyeonjong (1659-1673) to Sukjong (1674-1719), printed in woodblock printing. The square style of Haeseo seem to be influenced by the style Seokbong which was very popular during mid Joseon period, and the style Haengseo and Choseo is based on the style Sonseol of early Joseon, and has adopted the style Wangheejee and shows distinctive features.

  • Korean caption: 조선의 임금인 선조(宣祖, 재위 1567~1607), 인조(仁祖, 재위 1623~1648), 효종(孝宗, 재위 1649~1658), 현종(顯宗, 재위 1659~1673), 숙종(肅宗, 재위 1674~1719)의 어필(御筆)을 목판으로 찍어낸 책. 해서(楷書)는 조선 중기 이후 유행한 석봉체(石峯體)에 경도된 감이 있으며, 행서(行書)와 초서(草書)는 조선 초기에 풍미하던 송설체(松雪體)에 근간을 두면서도 왕희지체(王羲之體)를 수용하여 각각의 개성을 발휘한 서체를 보인다.
