Coming of age, Curraghmore, Portlaw, Co Waterford, January 1922

Beresford family members are photographed here at a coming of age celebration at Curraghmore. The young man to the right of the photograph may have been the chief celebrant of the 21st birthday. It is unknown whether he saw action in the First World War between April and November 1918, after the enlistment age was lowered to 17.
