Common astilboides

n the deep mountains central north of South Korea, China, Russia. Around 1-1.5m tall. Stem large and long, small hairs. Leaves have a shield-like appearance as reflected in the sometimes used common name of shield leaf. Flowers panicle, bisexual of white, Jun-Jul. petals 5, long oval, 5 stamens, longer than petals, with 2 styles. Fruits capsule. The population is small.
