The set of “Cones” by Eduardo Frota is an installation that is based not only on the visual, but also on the physical, aiming to offer the visitor an experience of the senses when encountering objects or crossing the empty spaces between them. The shape itself is the least. What matters is the monumentality of the object in relation to the environment and people, awakening at least concepts about relativity. The works are made with plywood rings joined with glue and pins. Eduardo Frota was born in Fortaleza (CE), in 1959. He moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1978; in this city he started his art studies by attending the Escolinha de Arte do Brasil and the workshop of the Visual Arts Body of Parque Lage. In 1986, he graduated in Art Education from Faculdades Integradas Bennet. He dedicates himself to large-scale sculpture, such as cones and spools made of wood. Lives and works in Fortaleza
