Cornucopia

RIK LINA was born in Holland in 1942. He studied painting and photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam between 1960 and 1965. In 1972 he joined the Surrealist Group International MOVEMENT PHASES (relations of friendship with Artur Cruzeiro Seixas and Mario Cesariny). Lived, worked and exhibited their work in Turkey, Spain, Caribbean, Chile, Brazil, Indonesia, USA, and since 1973 in Portugal.
He participated in the retrospective exhibition “O Surrealismo Abrangente – Colecção de Artur Cruzeiro Seixas" Famalicão and Lisbon in 2004; and international exhibition "Surrealismo e Pintura Fantástica" organized by Mario Cesariny in Lisbon in 1984.
Presently Rick and his wife ceramist Elize Bleys live in Tavarede, where they founded together with the poet Miguel de Carvalho the group "Cabo Mondego Section of Portuguese Surrealism" in 2008.
