Crazy Log Cabin Quilt

This quilt is uniquely designed as it is reminiscent of both a pineapple patterned log cabin quilt and a crazy quilt. While the maker is unknown, this quilt is representative of the way women created their own designs. At first, women took their patterns from quilts that had been shared, but by the end of the 1800s, ladies’ magazines and newspapers began publishing and advertising patterns, making them more readily available. Every time a quilter made a slight variation to a pattern, it was given a new name. What the name of this quilt is, we may never know, but it certainly shows the creativity that its maker would have employed.
