Since 2017, I have been studying the color of the Paraná River aiming to approach the many shades that compose it. Through an action that I repeat several times a year, I register the colors of a day, considering day and time, season and weather conditions, the movement of the clouds, the place, etc. I carry out this action where I live, Reconquista, and specifically the Ramsar Jaaukanigás site. The word chromatography (from the Greek chrōma and gráphō), means “writing or record of color”. This physical method of separation for the characterization of complex mixes has the purpose of separating different compounds, allowing to identify and define the amounts of each part that integrates them. This sensitive chromatography comes from consecutive days of taking physical pictorial samples, based on the perception of color through my eyes and the adjustment of the different shades through the simultaneous contrast with the landscape.
