A home or travel altar with a scene of the Crucifixion. Stylistically it refers to the Antwerp artistic circle. Undoubtedly, during the creative process, the painter used commonly available templates - engravings. The painting shows the scene of the Crucifixion, during which a lonely cross with the body of Jesus hanging limply is embraced by the kneeling Mary Magdalene. In the background, the dramatic, cloudy sky with a brighter gleam and the buildings of Jerusalem scattered over the hills. On the other side of the plate, a fragment of an earlier copperplate is preserved. The uniqueness of this work is that it combines art with craftsmanship. The painting was placed in a decorative wooden frame with embossed, engraved, gilded brass overlays. In this form, he could accompany his owner on a trip or serve for domestic religious practice.
