The main seat of the museum from the beginning of its existence is the historic, baroque building of the former curia of the abbots from Lubiąż, located in Legnica. The museum amasses collections related to the extraction, processing and use of copper (copper minerals from all over the world, old and modern copper engraving, technical monuments in the field of copper mining and metallurgy, old and modern bronze chamber sculptures, artistic and utility products made of copper and its alloys, collection of art déco art), Polish contemporary goldsmithing (works by artists of the interwar period and later years, and made for the silver competition in Legnica) and the history of Legnica and the region.
